About the gallery
Bartley & Company Art opened in spacious new premises in Garrett Street Wellington in February 2021 after 12 years in a lovely old stable building in Ghuznee Street, Wellington. We are looking forward to offering artists the opportunity to play with scale.

Director Alison Bartley has a background in art history and media and communications and has been involved in the art world since the mid 1990s.

Gallery staff include assistants Cheska Brown and William (Billy) Bartley Nees.

Cheska completed a BFA (Hons) at Massey University in Wellington in 2016 and has worked in the gallery since undertaking an internship in 2015.

Billy joined the gallery in 2020 on his return to Wellington after ten years away in Melbourne and in Europe. In Melbourne he completed an Honours degree (1st Class) in Fine Arts at RMIT.
Our ethos
Any gallery is only as good as the company it keeps. Bartley & Company Art values the company of artists and the company of viewers, supporters and collectors.

We also value the ideas that art communicates and the conversations it engenders. We promote high-quality, critically-relevant art in all media by emerging and established contemporary artists. Touching on every aspect of contemporary life, their art stimulates and interests us. So please talk to us about the art you see on this site and in the gallery.
Copyright of all artworks on this site is held by the individual artists. All other material is copyright of the gallery.
